REWOCAM Joy Basket (RJB)
The RJB project supports IDP, refugee and survivors of SGBV who are pregnant but have no money to support their pregnancy and delivery. Usually, these groups of women end up not attending ANC and have their deliveries at home under the attention of unskilled neighbours, friends or just women in the neighbourhood. In Cameroon, for women to have hospital delivery, there is a list of items called emergency items which are compulsory delivery kits expected from every woman who is going to the labour room for delivery. Most women who don’t have these items will rather have home births to avoid the embarrassment in hospitals. This usually leads to the already high maternal mortality rates that Cameroon is noted for.
In 2020, REWOCAM started the REWOCAM Joy Basket that has offered complete delivery kits to over 35 women so far in different localities. A complete delivery kit for one woman may cost a minimum of $100 and this is too much for an average Cameroonian woman. We are doing our best in this area but our funds are limited.
Support one woman with delivery kits that stands at $100. All donations made to REWOCAM are matched 1:1 (doubled) by Global Pearls, Inc, USA and sent to us 100%.
