Mothers In The Fight Against Rape (MOFAR)

After teaching the children everything that they need to know about rape and how to fight rape, we felt the need to bring their parents together in a separate conference to educate them on the things that we taught their children and more. This is because, most often, if you teach African children things about their sexuality, their parents “un-teach” them by shutting them up if they did little things like calling their private parts by their real names. In order to make parents align with their children in this fight, the conferences help to put the mothers on the same page with their children so as to help them accompany their children in the fight against rape. We run MoFAR on an yearly basis, immediately after the BAR and GAR camps. MoFAR brings together 200 women each year in a series of conferences that takes 50 women per session.
